The idea has deep roots in the Bandung Conference (1955), the Non Aligned Movement (1961), and the G77 (1964), which built solidarity for fairer trade, finance, and development. India has revived this agenda through the Voice of Global South and during the G20, where analysts said Global South priorities moved to the center.
